Gentle Bedtime Fit

Is your bedtime routine actually serving a sensitive nervous system? Ten honest questions.

  1. Does the bedtime routine start at the same time most nights?
  2. Are screens off at least 60 minutes before sleep?
  3. Is the bedroom cool, dark, and quiet?
  4. Does your child have a wind-down activity that doesn't involve a screen?
  5. Is your child eating dinner more than two hours before sleep?
  6. Does your child have a way to discharge worries (worry jar, talk time, journal) before lights-out?
  7. Is there a transitional object or comfort item available?
  8. Are you available for a brief check-in after lights-out?
  9. Is the wake time consistent on weekends as well as weekdays?
  10. Does your child wake feeling rested most days?
