Vitamin
Vitamin D3
Vitamin D deficiency is rampant in indoor kids, and it's linked to anxiety, low mood, and poor sleep. Most pediatric guidelines now recommend at least 600 IU/day. Higher if your child is rarely outside.
Typical pediatric dose
Kids 1-12: 600-1,000 IU/day. Teens: 1,000-2,000 IU/day. With a fatty food for absorption.
Safety notes
Get a blood test before going above 2,000 IU/day. Toxicity is rare but possible.
